Filipa Cardoso grew up in Alto do Pina, a traditional neighborhood of Lisbon, among amateur fado singers, listening to guitar chords and fado tunes.
Winner of the Grande Noite do Fado in 2004, she was invited to join the cast of Sr. Vinho, one of the most important houses of fado in Lisbon.
Filipa Cardoso has recently released the CD “Cumprir seu fado”, based on the tradition and produced by Jorge Fernando. In this CD she sings the jealousy, the disappointment, the desire, the impossible love and the maternal love.
